The ConfrontationLife's sometime about the physical battle than one faces. How ever some individuals must defend themselves for either being accused or being caught doing wrong. In the stories, "The Fight" by Richard Wright and "The Confrontation" by Raymond Barrio. In these two stories both authors described an physical encounter due to the "new person arriving". However they are different, in Wright's story he elaborated on how his new arrival to a new school was more than just a new start to a new educational life, but it was a fight for a stamp for popularity, respect, admiration. Moreover Barrio explained more about how individuals can act stupid and in the end have to fight for defensive purposes. In Barrios story this guy was a clever individual who tried to fool everyone even though he was a smart, clever and even though he dressed, talked, act like his fellow peers he was actually pretty rich. Everyone knew he was a snake, he deceived his own people. How ever in Wright's story the kid was forced to prove himself not academically but physically. He was in a position which he felt he had no other choice but to act tough, show no fear and he was determined to fight until he got the respect of his peers. Basically, Barrios story was one of deception, betrayal and fighting for being a wrongful individual, Wright's story was one of fighting for a pedestal of respect. "The Fight" by Richard Wright and "The Confrontation" by Raymond Barrio have a similar point to the stories as both include scenes that the protagonist has to fight. Also both of these stories elaborate on how an entire community of people can influence the conflict of certain individuals. Also both of these authors incorporate how a confrontation of someone who is respected, or is highly regarded as can lead to the respect of your peers around you. The way Manuel confronted Morales in "The Confrontation" he felt him and his fellow workers were being used working as hard as they can and being robbed. However in "The Fight" the kid who was in that school for his first day had show all his peers he wasn't scared of any challenge as his first was a fist fight with the bully of the school who was well known. Both of these stories show how a confrontation with a well known opponent can either put intimidation or a new found respect into your peers. However in both of these stories not much is very similar. For example, in "The Confrontation" by Raymond Barrio the author elaborates on how working very hard for someone and then having to stand up what you believe in can lead into a conflict, Manuel was not fighting to prove or earn respect but for a right he feel was being abused. However in "The Fight" by Richard Wright this kid is fighting for bragging rights basically. He fought to earn respect, a selfish reason more or less
